Mamata Banerjee wins Nandigram, defeats BJP’s Suvendu by 1200 votes

West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has won by 1200 votes against her former aide-turned-rival Suvendu Adhikari of the BJP, according to news agency ANI.

As expected, it was an extremely tight race that swayed from one side to the other as the last round of counting, round 17, started with a difference of mere six votes.
