Police arrests wife, lover for murdering husband

The Delhi Police arrested a woman and her lover on Saturday for murdering her husband. The two arrested were identified as Swarnali Ghost and her lover Mohanpal. The police also recovered blood-stained clothes from their premises.

The Kalkaji police received a call on Friday from the Police Control Room (PCR) about an unconscious person at a Kalkaji house. The police rushed to the spot and found a man lying on a bed with stab wounds on his neck. Afterwards, the dead body was taken to the AIIMS hospital for examination and was later taken to the mortuary for a post mortem.

A police team was constituted to catch the culprits of the crime. They checked CCTV cameras and collected the call records of the deceased’s wife, Swarnali Ghosh. The case was solved after the police conducted a lengthy interrogation of the wife.

The wife confessed to her after the police questioned her. She revealed that she killed her husband with the help of her lover. The police then traced the location of her boyfriend’s phone. He was caught in Saket’s Select City mall while on his way to West Bengal’s Siliguri.

He also confessed to his crime after a police interrogation. The police also recovered the blood-stained clothes they wore while committing the crime. Further investigations are underway in the case.

Swarnali said that she had an affair with Mohanpal for the last two years. She said her husband beat her regularly and, out of rage, made a plan to kill him. After they had committed the crime, Mohanpal had thrown the knife used to murder the husband and the blood-stained clothes in a drain in Saket. Swarnali and Mohanpal worked as service providers at the Max hospital and the Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute (PSRI).
