IM GDC Shopian conducted lecture programme under the theme “Teachers Don’t Die: Exploring the Relation Between Teaching and Life”

Shopian: In continuation of Teachers Day commemoration, the Debates and Seminars Committee of IM GDC Shopian conducted a lecture programme under the theme
“Teachers Don’t Die: Exploring the Relation Between Teaching and Life” today on September 09 2022 in the College Conference Hall. The guest speaker on the occasion was Mr. Ajaz ul Haque, noted writer, speaker and Producer EMRC, Kashmir University.
The Guest speaker presenting his views spelled out the ways by which a teacher can inspire his students. He said that a good teacher never stops to be a student and a reader.
Reading, reading and still more reading and hunger for knowledge is what should drive a teacher to immortalise himself. The guest speaker exhorted the faculty and students to read as much and as often as they can. He regretted the fact that teachers are loathe to reading books that they think do not belong to their areas of specialisation even when it is a known fact that the tree of knowledge itself grows from one seed.
The speech by the guest speaker was followed by a question and answer session in which mostly students raised queries and made observations. The learned speaker responded to each of the query to the satisfaction of the audience.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Ashiq Hussain (H.O.D Commerce). Prof. Shahnawaz (Convenor Debates and Seminars Committee) welcomed the guest speaker and Dr. Showkat Ahmad (H.O.D Geography) presented the vote of thanks to the audience.
