Azra Malik: an artist in our neighbourhood deserves attention

It is rightly said that how big a deal is it to live for oneself, people who live for others leave a mark.

Having said that, the people of pulwama are blessed to have one such soul amongst them, Malik Azra Rashid.

Azra hails from the resilient town of pulwama and right from her childhood she knew that mediocrity isn’t her thing. She had realised it very early in her life that the purpose of life is to live for others. For this selfless service she had to be self reliant first.

She is a self-taught artist and an entrepreneur who holds a degree in commerce. It was a big deal to start her career as an entrepreneur all by herself.

While talking to The Kashmir Radar, Azra said: ” It’s been my childhood dream to do something for the orphan girls”.

The will and determination to help orphan girls backed her to take such an empowering step.

She saw it as a big opportunity for service and didn’t let any hurdles quiver her faith in herself. Art for her wasn’t only escape or expression. It was beyond that and It served a greater purpose for her.

Half the job is done when we conceive an idea, rest pure intentions is what actually gives it wings. Her flight has been incredible as there’s no stopping. She has soared high but at the same time hasn’t lost sight of why she chose the skies in the first place!

Let’s have a look at what she draws and crafts.
