27 clay loaded tippers seized during nocturnal raids in Pulwama

Pulwama 20 September : Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama , Department of Geology and Mining conducted night raids and seized 27 tippers besides a JCB . After receiving complaints regarding the resumption of mining activity in some pockets of District ,teams of Geology and Mining led by District Mineral Officer Mr. Faisal Ahmad conducted night operations on illegal mining and seized clay ladden tippers on spot

Meanwhile ARTO Pulwama has been directed to confiscate the tippers besides impounding and blacklisting the same . He has also been directed to cancel the RCs, Driving Licences and Permits of the seized vehicles whereas respective Tehsildars have been directed to lodge FIR against the voilaters.

Deputy Commissioner expressed his resentment over the indiscriminate mining despite a blanket ban on mining all accoss the district .
He reiterated zero tolerance policy of the District administration against illegal mining and asked the concerned to act tough against the violators.

It is pertinent to mention that people from these areas have hailed the action of the District Adminstation as the noise and night plying of tippers have been the major cause of nuisance and inconvenience.
