ACB registers case against Naib Tehsildar who amassed wealth in crores

Srinagar, Nov 23, KNT: Anti Corruption Bureau has registered a formal case against a ‘corrupt’ officer after verification of his assets worth cores.

The anti-graft body conducted searches at the multiple houses of this corrupt officer and seized incriminating documents.

Ironically during investigation, it came to fore that within a span of over a decade of his service, Naib Tehsildar Rawalpora Srinagar, Abdul Rashid Malla has amassed huge wealth and build multiple palatial houses and shopping complexes.

A handout issued by Anti Corruption Bureau as per news agency KNT states that the suspect has received a salary of around Rs 45,00,000 with effect from year 2008 up-to 2019 while the properties acquired by Abdul Rashid Malla in the said period are worth crores of rupees which is totally disproportionate to his known sources of income.

This alleged corrupt officer has acquired properties worth cores some of them in his name while others are in the name of his relatives. These properties include 4 shops and land, near Grid Station, Chadoora Budgam, Shopping Complex at Doyen Chadoora, huge palatial house at Hassipora Chadoora, another huge house near Imam Bada Chadoora, yet another huge palatial house at Rawalpora, vast patch of land at Dawlatpora Chadoora and land with structure at Hassipora Chadoora.

For acquiring huge assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, ACB accordingly has registered an FIR vide number25/2020 against the said tainted officer. (KNT)
