Burglars looted the shrine of Bayazid Bostami in Payir village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district and fled with more than 70,000 Rupees during the intervening night of 12 – 13 May.
Locals have expressed concern and demanded immediate arrest of those responsible for the act.
Our correspondent Ajaz Rehmani reported that cash from the chest locked in Ziyarat Shareef Bayazid Bostami was looted by burglars. The incident has created resentment among local population.
“We are really concerned over such incidents and demand stern punishment for the culprits,” said Ghulam Muhammad Bhat, Numberdar of the area.
