Fare Overcharging: strict action against violators – ARTO Pulwama
PULWAMA — Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district has reiterated the implementation of the revised fare rates, which are applicable within the valley from March 19, 2021.
The Circular issued by the ARTO Office Pulwama, in this connection, reads, “Whereas, a revised fare notification has been notified by the State Transport Authority, J&K Government vide Notification No. 01 P-MVD of 2021, Dated 19-03-2021 and Endorsement No. TC/JK/P&S/73-V/P-668-757, Dated 19-03-2021. Whereas, there have been complaints of overcharging by divers on different routes.”
“Whereas, there is a dire need to make general public and transporters aware regarding revised fare charges applicable w.e.f 19-03-2021,” the Circular says.
The kilometer-wise rate list, which is now applicable, has been provided for the information of general public as well as transporters.
“In case of violation to this order, strict action warranted under rules will be taken against the erring transporters/drivers. General public is requested to mail any grievance regarding fare issues to artopulwamakmr@gmail.com, with a substantial proof (if available),” the ARTO announced in the Circular.
