Pulwama: Government Girls Higher Secondary School Pulwama today celebrated its Annual Day function in which District Commissioner Pulwama, G.M. Dar was the chief guest.
Mr. Wani Nazir, working as lecturer in the school, formally welcomed the guests which included Chief Education Officer among other officers from the administration.
On the occasion, various cultural programmes were presented by the students of the institution.
While addressing the audience, Mr. G.M. Dar said that a greater responsibility lies on the shoulders of a teacher to shape the career of a student.
He assured that all the required facilities and support will be provided to the students particularly those having talent in different fields like art, culture, crafts and other related fields.
The Deputy Commissioner also announced an amount of Rs 5 lakh for a Resting Hall for the students and also promised to establish a library in the school.
A cheque of Rs 2000 each was also distributed among the students who had out-performed in various activities.
Later, medals and certificates were distributed among the student participants.
