Ganderbal: A National Lok-Adalat was held at Ganderbal on Saturday as per the calendar of the activities of NALSA and directions of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority.
Two benches had been constituted at head Quarter Ganderbal and one was constituted at Munsiff Court Kangan.
A total No of 313 pending and pre-litigation matters came up for expected amicable settlement before the benches, out of which 146 cases were amicably settled on spot. An amount of Rs.6,56,939/- came to be realized as settlement amount.
The lok Adalat bench 1st headed by Principal District and Sessions Judge Ganderbal in order to ensure timely and expeditious disposal of some pre-litigation matters contacted the government authorities on phone as they could not come to attend the benches due to state holiday.
The seekers of the justice hailed the efforts of the DALSA Ganderbal in contacting and giving representation to the public authorities telephonically for on spot settlement of some deserving cases.
