Pulwama declared as best performing district in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 07: The southern Kashmir district of Pulwama was declared as the best performing district of J&K under the “Good Governance” Index on Friday .

Details available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reveal that composite score of 20 districts was computed at UT level by aggregating the scores of 10 sectors i.e agriculture & allied sectors, industries & allied sectors, human resource development, public health, public infrastructure & utilities, financial inclusion, social welfare & development , judicial & public safety environment and citizen centric governance.

According to details,district Pulwama has secured rank first in the DGGI 2021-22 with an aggregate composite score of 5.926 while as District Samba and District Doda has secured second and third rank respectively.

District Srinagar secured rank first in public infrastructure and utilities sectors and also in agriculture & allied Sectors.

District Doda has topped in industries & allied Sectors along with environment sector. District Pulwama has topped in HRD and Judiciary & Public Sectors. District Rajouri has topped in public helalth, District Ramban has topped in social welfare, district Ganderbal in financial inclusion, district Samba in citizen centric governance sector and district Shopian and district Kishtwar (along with district Doda) in environment Sectors.

The government data highlights that the Jammu and Kashmir District Good Governance Index represents Next Generation Administrative Reform in Benchmarking Governance at District level

The District Good Governance Index of Jammu and Kashmir helps identify the impact of various governance interventions at the district level and provides a futuristic roadmap for improving district-level governance with targeted interventions—(KNO)
