Sadqat-ul- Fitr fixed at Rs 65 Per Person: Grand Mufti J&K Nasir ul Islam

Srinagar Apr 21: Grand Mufti Nasir ul Islam has fixed Sadqat-ul- Fitr, amount Rs 65 per person for the Year 2022.

Mufti Nasir ul Islam told KB — Kashmir Bulletin that we have fixed Rs 65 Sadqat ul fitr per person and requested people of Jammu & Kashmir to pay it as soon as possible, as due to poor economic conditions , large number of families are badly suffering.

Mufti Nasir-ul Islam said that Sadqa and Zakat is Wajib (mandatory) upon such a person who owns assets, which equal the value of the Nisab.

The owner of Nisab in the ruling as regards Sadaqat-al-Fitr is such a person who has 7 1/2 tola gold (93 grams 312 milligrams) or 52 1/2 tola silver (653 grams 184 milligrams), or any other form of asset.

“Each person should give away in charity an amount equivalent to 1.760 gram.
He said that people should not wait for ending days of Ramazan and should pay their Zakaat and Sadqat as soon as possible.

The amount of Sadqat-ul- Fitr is same for everyone, regardless of the amount he earns, he said.
