Teacher In Kulgam Forced Students To Clean Toilets, Manhandled Headmaster After He Intervened

The teacher has now been suspended and attached with the concerned CEO office

The Kashmir Radar: Disturbing scenes were witnessed in Goverment Middle School Tengjen Yaripora of Kulgam district when a teacher namely Gowhar Farooq Ganaie manhandled his headmaster and other fellow teachers after they stopped him from using students as sweepers in the school.

Hundreds of locals assembled in the premises of this school when students raised a hue and cry when they saw their teachers been beaten up by Gowhar Farooq.

“He always forces us to do sweeping and other chores in the school, he doesn’t listen to anybody. This morning he didn’t let me attend the morning assembly because the toilet was unclean and I was supposed to clean it, which I did.” Said a female student while talking to the correspondent of a national news channel.

“Other teachers including the headmaster of the school, humbly asked him not to use the students for cleaning purposes in the school, he started beating them, he didn’t even spare the headmaster of the school.” Said another student.

Other students too alleged that this teacher often sends them to his home to fetch lunch, water and tea for him.

Angry parents present in the school after the altercation demanded strict action again the erring teacher.

“We are sending our kids to study in the school, not to clean the washroom’s. We are poor and cannot afford sending our kids to private schools. Such unfortunate incidents should not happen in the schools.” Said a parent.

“The whole staff of the school was later attached by the concerned ZEO and the school has been closed down for now and the decision of reopening the school will be taken by the ZEO,” Said the Headmaster of the school.
