Trio arrested for selling ‘government’ cement in Ganderbal

Srinagar, Jul 6 (GNS): Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have arrested three persons alleged for their involvement in illegal sale of government cement.
In a statement issued to GNS, the police said that on specific information, a police party from Police Station Gund under the supervision of SDPO Kangan raided two spots at Fraw Haknar and Ganiwan Gund. During the raids, the police party seized 248 bags of government cement from the possession of three persons identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Ahad Shah, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Ahad Shah both residents of Fraw Gund and Ehsan-ul-Haq son of Abdul Ahad Bhat resident of Sumbal Bala Gund, the statement reads.
It is to be noted that the cement was meant for Government works only and was labeled as “Not for Retail Sale”, the statement reads.
The accused persons were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody and cases vide FIR Nos. 31/2021, 32/2021 and 33/2021 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Gund and investigation have been initiated, it reads.
