Woman gives birth to quintuplets within seven months of conceiving

The 27-year-old mother, named Anita, hails from Jharkhand’s Chatra district. She gave birth to five children within 7 months of conceiving, as reported.
Although the babies were severely underweight and premature, they are said to be in good health and are currently under surveillance in Neonatal Intensive care Units (NICU).
The photo of the babies with the caption “A woman from Itkhori Chakra has given birth to five children in the women and childbirth department of RIMS,” made headlines. The complex delivery of the five children was carried out under the leadership of Dr Shashi Bala Singh.

The 27-year-old mother, named Anita, hails from Jharkhand’s Chatra district. She gave birth to five children within 7 months of conceiving, as reported. The father of these five children, Prakash Sau, said that after delivery, Anita was transferred from a hospital in Chatra district to Ranchi’s RIMS. He further added that Anita’s treatment could not continue at the previous hospital, so she was shifted to RIMS for delivery.
Although all five children were delivered safely, the mother is under observation.Five little girls were born, and this was the first time quintuplets were born in the area.
Super fertility cases have recently shocked the world, such as a 30-year-old woman conceiving her second baby just four weeks after getting pregnant with the first.
According to various sources, the first known case of quintuplets was the ‘Dionne quintuplets’ born in 1934 in Canada. They were the first documented set of 5 identical children to have survived their infancy.
