Pulwama residents decry closure of Pain and Palliative care services at DH Pulwama
The Kashmir Radar: In a surprise move health department has ordered shifting of the only doctor having expertise in Palliative medicine namely Dr M.Yousuf Tak to CHC Rajpora who was earlier assigned the job of looking after pain and palliative care in district hospital Pulwama.
Presently the refferal rate from D H Pulwama Covid facility of very sick Covid patients to tertiary care hospitals was very less for which ICU services run under the supervision of Dr Yousuf Tak was a positive contribution.
Dr.M. Yousuf Tak, Consultant who is also President of Doctors Association Kashmir is a Polite and a dedicated doctor and has been managing Pain & palliative care service at D.H Pulwama vide order of Director Health Services order Est/3/1-133.
Concerned Consultant was posted by director health services to DH Pulwama for managing ICU services at D H Pulwama. Since there are many other anaesthesiologists available around but Dr M. Yousuf Tak is only doctor trained and certified in palliative medicine.
This service run by Dr M.Yousuf Tak is a big relief to the people availing this facility at D.H Pulwama.
Not only people from Pulwama but adjacent areas told that by having this service available at D H Pulwama, it saves us money and time going to SKIMS or SMHS besides decreasing distress of travel to our sick patients.
These people appealed additional Chief Secretary Health Mr Atal Dullo Ji and DC Pulwama Baseer ul haq Chowdary sahab to intervene and strengthen Palliative medicine at D.H.Pulwama and Post Dr Tak at Pulwama with a proper replacement to CHC Rajpora.
Meanwhile President Traders Federation Pulwama Haji Nisar Ahmad also said that as he got representation in this regard so is appealing for Posting of Dr Tak to DH Pulwama.
