The Kashmir Radar, Aug, 6: All cricketers registered with JKCA/BCCI are hereby advised not to participate in any tournament within J&K UT or Outside, which is not recognised by JKCA/BCCI,” reads a circular issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association.
There has been mashrooming of cricket events across J&K and top-level cricketers have been seen playing in almost all those events. In order to streamline things and keep all events under radar for any unauthorised activity, JKCA on the lines of BCCI, has taken this decision.
In a notice issued on Thursday, August 5, by JKCA sub-committee member Brig. Anil Gupta , JKCA has asked its cricketers to stay away from the unauthorised tournaments.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier a story “Why do most of Jammu and Kashmir players fail in trails?” was carried by Muzaffar Dar, a national sports correspondent, on “Sports hub” in which distinguished cricket experts including Samiullah Beigh, Syed Parvez Qaisar and Madan Lal expressed their opinions about ethics and code of conduct of the cricket players while playing in local tournaments.
Soon after the story was published on the Facebook page of “Sports Hub” JKCA swung into action and issued the circular banning all cricket players associated with JKCA from playing in local tournaments which are not recognised by the JKCA.
