Last week six drug peddlers were arrested with huge quantity of psychotropic substances from Pulwama, Sopore and Budgam.
One of the drug peddler who was photographed after getting arrested was brutally trolled by social media users for his height.
Soon after Jammu and Kashmir police revealed the photographs of the drug peddlers, one such photograph that caught everyones attention showed a man with shorter height, thus inviting trolls to make memes over the picture.
“Budgam police arrested 1.5 persons with drugs” was the caption on the picture that went viral on social media and some so called social workers and journalists too shared the picture with the same caption.
The trolls were in turn trolled by responsible citizens for making fun of someone with a shorter height.
“Insulting, Intimidating, Assaulting the ‘Disabled’ can land one in Jail.The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, in the Official Gazette and it has come into force.” Wrote Advocate Mushtaq on his Facebook handle.
It is pertinent to mention that Jammu and Kashmir Police in a series of actions had arrested six notorious drug peddlers in Pulwama, Sopore & Budgam and recovered huge quantity of Psychotropic substances from their possession.
In Pulwama, Police arrested two drug peddlers in two separate actions in Rajpora and Tahab areas. They were identified as Ishrat Mansoor Ganaie @Sameer son of Mansoor Ahmad Ganaie resident of Meemander Ganaie Mohalla Shopian and Mohd Ayoub Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir.
Moreover in Budgam, Police party of Police Station Magam had intercepted 02 persons during naka checking at Batpora Kanihama. They were identified as Abdul Majeed Pandith son of Ghulam Nabi Pandith resident of Batapora Kanihama and Nisar Ahmad Wani son of Bashir Ahmad Wani resident of Roshanabad Mazhama. During search, 11 bottles of Codeine Phosphate & 190 tablets of Clonazepam were recovered from their possession.
