Anantnag Police arrested three drug peddlers, Contraband recovered
Anantnag 15 April 2021: Continuing it’s crackdown on drug menace. Anantnag police busted a drug racket and arrested three drug peddlers.
Today Police party from Police Station Bijbehara laid a naka at Arwani railway crossing and apprehended two persons along with 21 bottles of Codeine, 144 Sspasi-plus capsules and 9 Charas lathies.The two accused persons namely Mohd Ashraf Ganie S/O Mohd Akbar Ganie resident of Khrewan Chader Qaimoh and Mohd Yousuf Dar S/O Ab Khaliq Dar resident of Rakh Momin were arrested and contraband was seized.
In addition to the incident reported above another Police party from Police Station Srigufwara established a naka at Poshkeeri crossing and during checking one person namely Shabroz Ahmad Wani S/O Ab Rehman Wani resident of Poshkeeri was arrested along with 9 Codeine phosphate bottles.
Accordingly Case FIR No. 74/2021 U/S 8/20, 21,22 and 29 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Bijbehara and case FIR No 26/2021 under section 8/21 NDPS stands registered in Police Station Srigufwara respectively and investigation taken up.
This is in continuation to the efforts of Anantnag Police to fight against the meance of Drug Abuse and Drug Peddling.
