JK’s Pride: Dr. Suraya Rehman Features in Global Top Scientists List
Meet Dr. Suraya Rehman, a trailblazing microbiologist from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir! For the third year in a row, she’s been recognized as one of the highest-cited researchers globally by Elsevier. Currently an Associate Professor at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suraya holds a doctorate from Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Srinagar.
She’s made history as the first woman and microbiologist from Jammu and Kashmir to rank among the top 2% of global researchers, according to Stanford University’s list, for three consecutive years (2022, 2023 and 2024).
Dr. Suraya’s impressive credentials include two books and 90 published papers with a cumulative impact factor of 300. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she published a pivotal paper on potential therapeutic perspectives.
