Three cousin sisters, Tuba Bashir, Rutba Bashir and Arbish from Nowshera in Srinagar cleared the NEET exam and set out one of the rarest of rare example.
“I feel great that all three of us have cleared NEET together because we went to school and coaching together and we thought we would clear MBBS and become a doctor. I am very happy because I worked hard and got the result.” Said Tuba Basheer.
“We are very happy. We started preparing for the NEET exam from 11th standard itself. We practiced a lot. The credit for our success goes to our parents as they have supported us since childhood.” Said Rutaba Basheer, who cleared NEET.
“I am feeling very happy. There was no doctor in our family, it was my own decision to become a doctor. Our parents supported us completely from the beginning. While preparing, we had to keep in mind that this was the first and last attempt, we had to walk with this determination and keep studying.” Said Urbish, who also passed the NEET exam.
Pertinently, In yet another remarkable achievement, Abdul Basit, a student from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, clinched the top position in the NEET UG-2023 entrance exam in Jammu and Kashmir. Basit’s exceptional score of 705 out of 720 points has earned him the prestigious first rank in the highly competitive exam in J&K.
Hailing from Chewa-Kalam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Basit says that the hard work and dedication are the primary keys to crack any prestigious exams.
Another example of hard work and determination was set out by Umar Ganaie of Zagigam village of Pulwama, who despite working as a painter qualified this years NEET exam without any coaching or guidance.
Umar, in addition to studying for his NEET exam, had to support his poor family as well and for that purpose Umar went on to work as a labourer to earn money and with only four months subscription to ‘Physics Wallah’ Umar succeeded in quantifying the NEET-2023.
Interestingly, in 2022, the pass percentage of UG NEET qualifiers had increased by nearly 10 percent in Jammu and Kashmir corresponding to the previous year.
In NEET-2021, only 42.59 percent students from JK had qualified the exams. But this year, more than 52 percent of students have qualified for the exams. .
The official figures revealed by the National Testing Agency showed that in 2022, a total of 38,140 students had registered from JK and of them 36,374 appeared and 20,005 qualified it.
Likewise, in 2021, a total of 34, 615 candidates had registered from JK out of which 31,479 appeared and 14,743 qualified.
