Utilization and Expansion of Mechanical Engineering only viable development in Modern world

The Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA ) in a press release has again appealed the Honorable Lt. Governor of UT of J&K Shri G. C. Murmu, Advisor to the Hon’ble LG Shri. R.R. Bhatnagar and Principal Secretary to Govt PWD (R&B and Mechanical Engineering Deptt.) Shri Shalinder Kumar that the redressal of long pending issues for Engineering community in general and Mechanical in particular is the only way to dream of real development. MEGA in this press release want to intimate to the higher authorities that it is very unfortunate that the Mechanical being old important wing of Engineering has been always ignored as far expansion, cadre review and issue redressal is concerned. There is every department or sector in UT of J&K, including R&B, PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control, JKPDC, JK minerals, Municipal Corporation, Tourism, Agriculture, Horticulture, Cement Industry, etc and more importantly in Hospital Services, where Mechanical Engineers are always find high and important demand. But unfortunately the wing has been neglected and no expansion or cadre review has been initiated from last 4 decades .

Like in rest of world the Mechanical Engineering is only viable path for better public deliverance and real development. The quality and prompt service is demand of public in every field of life including basic facilities is not possible unless and untill Mechanical engineering is given due place and importance .
We appeal the Administration especially Honorable Lt. Governor of UT of J&K, Advisor to the Hon’ble LG and Principal Secretary PWD (R&B and Mechanical Engineering Deptt.) that
(1) The Mechanical engineering should be utilized to its full in every sector including PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control, Hospital Services, Municipal Services, Agriculture, Hoticulture, UEED, JKPDC, JK Minerals, JKPCC ,JK Cements, Mughal Road , Disaster Management , Tourism, Cable Car Corporation etc. This is possible only if the cadre is reviewed and expansion is done on merit basis for effective public deliverance and more importantly an SEPERATE ADMINSTRATIVE DEPARTMENT is created for treating Mechanical Engineering a full-fledged Department and not a service link as is presently being considered under PWD (R&B) Department .
2) Revival of JK Stores Procurement Department on modern lines for Quality Purchase, Control and Storage as per global standards .
3) The immediate creation of two full-fledged Mechanical Hospital Department wings, exclusive for hospital services, one in Jammu and other in Kashmir to share the work load of mechanical infrastructure, transport fleet and water supply of newly created AIIMS, Medical Colleges and Associated Hospitals.
4) Review and revival of Deputation posts in other Departments, where with passage of time the non-technical persons have occupied Mechanical Engineer’s posts and have badly ruined and affected the output and efficiency. This is possible only if a full-fledged Mechanical Department is established with center pool of all cadre ranks to fed other Departments and Services required .
More importantly the Mechanical Engineering Fraternity is always ready and eager to contribute for overall development of J&K and request administration that the already pending issues of Regularization, Issuance of SRO of ACP , Clearance of all Creation / Expansion files pending in Administrative secretariat, Filling of vacant posts at all levels in all departments by promotions, Investigation of fake degrees and more importantly giving chance of new technology awareness by imparting training to Engineers on routine basis may be given priority for early resolution.
Hope the Administration will resolve the issue at an earliest
