The Kashmir Radar: In a brazen violation of COVID norms, hundreds of people gathered to celebrate the win of a cricket team in Musarmarg area of South Kashmirs Pulwama.

Hundreds of people gathered in the cricket ground to witness the final match of a domestic cricket match that was played between two local teams.

Ironically, none among the gathered spectators, followed COVID norms, none in the now viral video can be seen wearing a mask and social distancing too went for a toss.

Amid the ravaging pandemic that claimed millions of lives and lockdowns are still in place in most of the states of India including the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, but there seems to be no end to the stupidity displayed by people in this particular district, as videos of mass gatherings from the same district were shared on social media sites since the onset of the second wave of the pandemic.

After yesterdays unexpected mass gathering in Musarmarg, various NGO’s and social activists now demand an FIR to be registered against the organiser of the tournament so that a strong message can be passed to the organisers of the upcoming tournaments.

It is pertinent to mention that after the UT administration eased out the lockdown measures last week, Pulwama district was again put under Corona curfew because of the increasing number of COVID cases. (TKR)
