Fact Check: Viral Picture Of This Mysterious Creature Shared With False Claim Linking Its Presence In Kashmir

Netizens were quick to share the picture of a mysterious animal allegedly clicked during the night hours and claimed that the creature is dangerous and was seen somewhere Kashmir.

Social Media Claim

Picture of a mysterious creature is viral on social media with people claiming that the animal is roaming around somewhere in Kashmir.

The photo has been shared numerous times across various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and X.

However, no social media handle or a page mentioned the exact location in their captions.

“Everyone should remain cautious as this animal is roaming in Kashmir.” Read one such post on Facebook.

The Fact:

To verify the picture claiming to be a “dangerous mysterious animal” our fact checking team at ‘The Kashmir Radar’ utilized the Reverse Image Search feature to trace the source of the image. However, our search gave no other pictures of this animal except the picture of some Hyenas shot during night hours.

Furthermore, we attempted to use the Retouched Photo Detector program to analyze this image. During the process, we discovered that there are scattered pixels over the picture suggesting that this picture is potentially edited.

The picture of this “mysterious creature”is likely a hoax or a fabricated story, and the image appears to be edited.
