MGNREGA Employees Rejoice as J&K Government Showers Long-Awaited Pay Hike

Srinagar, J&K: After years of toil, MGNREGA employees in Jammu and Kashmir finally have reason to celebrate! In a move that has brought cheer to thousands of families, the J&K government has announced a significant increase in their remuneration. This comes as a welcome answer to a long-pending demand of these frontline workers, who are the backbone of the central government’s flagship rural employment scheme.

Union leaders representing MGNREGA workers have erupted in joy, showering gratitude on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary of the Rural Development Department. They hailed the decision as a testament to the government’s commitment to the well-being of the employees, and lauded Dr. Choudhary’s leadership in advocating for their cause.

“This raise is a game-changer for us,” beamed Mudasir, an MGNREGA employee from Pulwama district. “For years, we’ve struggled to make ends meet with the meager remuneration. Now, we can at least afford to send our children to school and put a decent meal on the table.”

The hike in remuneration not only signifies financial relief for these hard-working employees, but also serves as a boost to their morale.

The employees, empowered by this recognition of their value, are now looking forward to further improvements in their service conditions under Dr. Choudhary’s able guidance.

With this move, the J&K government has sent a clear message: the welfare of rural communities remains at the forefront of its priorities.
