DDC Ganderbal visits Regional Transformer Repair Workshop

Ganderbal: District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today visited newly constructed Regional Transformer Repair Workshop at old power house premises, Ganderbal. The transformer workshop is being established with an estimated cost of Rs. 114.16 lakh which will cater to the needs of both Ganderbal and Bandipora districts.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that within one month the workshop will be fully functional and will help in resolving the issue of repairing transformers within shortest possible time within the district especially in winters.

“Earlier, defunct transformers were send to Central Workshop Division PDD, Pampore for repairing that used to take much time as the previous workshop was not able to cater to the needs of the district especially during winters. It resulted in outage of electricity for weeks together. But with the new workshop, issues will be resolved as soon as possible,” he added.

The district administration is committed for developing power infrastructure in the district so as to streamline its supply more especially in the coming winter season, he added and stressed upon the concerned to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people.

Pertinently, transformers ranging from 25kv to 630kv would be repaired in this workshop and 90 to 100 damaged transformers would be repaired every month in the workshop.

Among others, X-En, PDD Ganderbal Javid Ahmad, AEE Workshop Ganderbal, Nisar Ahmad, and other concerned officers were also present during the occasion.
