A 22-year-old girl from Jamia Hafsa Uloom Hyderpora took only 38 days to memorize the Quran. Memorizing the Quran has the highest reward in Islam and she decided to utilize the minimum time to memorize the holy book which she finally achieved.

People of Kashmir are praising her efforts to memorize the Quran in such a short period of time and appreciated her will to use the time productively.

“I always dreamed of memorizing the Holy Quran and one find day I talked to my Islamic teacher and I assured him that I will complete in a shorter period of time and Alhamdulillah, I made my teacher proud when I completed it just 38 days.” Said the girl in an interview with a web portal.

“When a boy or a girl top any board exam in our valley, the media provides them space and highlight their achievements just to encourage other students. Unfortunately, our students who achieve such feats never receive any kind of publicity through the media. They don’t need publicity but such stories may encourage other young boys and girls to come forward and tread on the righteous path.” Said the teacher under whose supervision the girl has memorized the Quran.

Importance of memorizing the Holy Quran in Islam:

Hifz is memorization of the Quran. Muslims believe that whoever memorizes the Quran and acts upon it will be rewarded and honoured greatly by Allah, so that they will rise in status in Paradise to a level commensurate with what they memorized of the Book of Allah.

Abdullah ibn Amr narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: “The Hafiz-e-Quran (a person who has memorized the Quran) will be said on the day of Judgment: Recite and rise in status, recite as you used to recite in the world, for your status will be at the last verse that you recite.”
