Awantipora, Aug 2, The Kashmir Radar: The public health centre at main town Awantipora in South Kashmir’s pulwama district has been waiting to get shifted to its previous location from where it was earlier shifted on the orders of then Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Raghav Langar after a demolition drive was carried out in the town.

The massive demolition drive left the Public Health Centre defunct as its main building too was demolished in the drive.

Later the public health centre was shifted to a private building located near Barsu village about two kilometers away from the main town Awantipora.

Facing hardships, the residents after approaching the administration got an approval to shift the health centre back to the main town in a building that was earlier used by Mantaqui high school.

Despite repeated reminders, the administration is yet to shift the health center to its proposed location which forced the local residents to stage a protest against the chief medical officer.
