Srinagar, 24th June: Two young girls, who were also closely related to each other, ended their life, by consuming some poison at their home on Tuesday, officials said.
According to CNS two young cousin sisters in a shocking incident committed suicide at their home by consuming some poisonous substance in Mewar village of North Kashmir district of Kupwara district on Tuesday, a police officer told CNS.
He said that as soon as the duo was spotted lying motionless by the family members, they were shifted to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared both of them brought dead.
“The reasons responsible for such an extreme step of committing suicide by the duo could not be known immediately; however police is looking into the matter and to uncover the reasons, which induced the girls to end their lives”, the officer said.
He further said that both the dead bodies were taken into custody by the police and sent for postmortem.
A case has been registered under 174 CrPc in the concerned police station and further investigations have been taken up.
